Low-grade serous ovarian cancer: expert consensus report on the state of the science

Cure Our Ovarian CancerNews

A new consensus report on low-grade serous ovarian cancer has been published. The report summarises recommendations from a meeting of low-grade serous experts in October 2022, and follows on from an earlier report on the State of the Science in 2019.

Seventy members of the low-grade serous cancer patient community completed a survey in the lead up to the meeting and a summary of this feedback has also been included in the paper. Cure Our Ovarian Cancer was pleased to be nominated as one of the best places for information and resources for low-grade serous ovarian cancer by patients.

The paper Low-grade serous ovarian cancer: expert consensus report on the state of the science has been written for a medical audience and covers statements around the diagnosis, risk factors, biomarkers, imaging, genetic testing, imaging, treatment and monitoring of low-grade serous cancer among other topics. The full text is available online so people are able to download and share it with their doctors.

In addition to the paper, Dr Slomovitz recently conducted an interview with Dr Gershenson and Dr Grisham discussing some of the information from the paper and recent clinical trials that can be viewed below.
