September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
At just 28 years old Lili received the shock diagnosis of stage 4 low-grade serous ovarian cancer. Like many women with ovarian cancer, her symptoms were insidious. “You get in your head that you are a hypochondriac, are you worrying too much… [you’re not!]”. It was easy for her and her doctors to dismiss the symptoms until she ended up in the ER vomiting from a bowel obstruction. A CT scan found several masses. The next day she had an 8 hour surgery that left her with a stoma bag. 4 days later the diagnosis of cancer was confirmed.
Listen to Lili bravely and articulately share her experience on the @deldichoalhecho.podcast – episode 6 from wherever you get your podcasts – listen on Spotify (discussion in English)
Lili also has a wonderful Etsy shop where she makes her own jewellery and donates at least 25% of proceeds to low-grade serous research. Check it out here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/shoplovelili/
